Possibly to settle a dispute about the ease with which one can install commando public sculpture in Philadelphia, Wilkes-Barre’s Paul Carson spent a week of free time building this giant 12 sided die. Last weekend we installed it on the vacant lot in Philadelphia where our Pink Tank resides.
The TE crew has one more sculpture planned for the lot. We aim to bring some levity to the neighborhood by creating a giant nerd sculpture garden. For giant nerds.

Kinetic Sculpture Derby @ Design Philadelphia
A few weeks ago, the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby collectively gave a talk addressing what in particular about Philadelphia had inspired and enabled the Derby and its outlandish entries.
These are the slides from my part of that presentation. The overarching theme was that Philadelphia is big enough to grant an audience but small enough that we can do whatever we want.

The making of the Video: Panic Pilgrim, Quick Grab Your Suitcase
This is a conversation with Rebecca Huston, the Animator and Director of the music video for the song “Panic Pilgrim, Quick Grab Your Suitcase” by the band An American Chinese.
“I just loved this song so much, I told Mitch and Mark (songwriters/guitarists), we should make a video! And that was the start of a long road through Photoshop designing and Adobe After Effects tutorials. We had fancy ideas but had never made any film/video before. But with lots of time and trial and error, we figured it all out!”
